Barbara Guarischi 4th in Boels Ladies bunch sprint!
Today’s 124 kilometer long fourth stage of Boels Ladies Tour was decided in a furious bunch sprint where VIRTU Cycling Women’s Barbara Guarishi took 4th as Amalie Dideriksen took yet another stage win.
The stage was dominated by the lonely and hardworking Isralian national champion, Omer Shapira, who fought off numerous chasers and even the whole peloton came within sight of the solo rider along the way before she reopened the gap completely. However, there was no mercy entering the local laps in Weert where she was reunited with the bunch.
In the hectic and thrilling bunch sprint, VIRTU Cycling Italian, Barbara Guarischi fought side by side with the best sprinters in the world and took a solid fourth place. DS, Carmen Small says:
“It was another good day for us. After a slow start, the girls are really beginning to show what they are capable of. It was the intense piece of teamwork that made this result possible and that’s what we need to bring with us tomorrow where it gets a bit harder. I doubt it will be another sprint decision. I think a breakaway decision is more likely.”
