Kasia Pawlowska and Mieke Kröger extend with VIRTU Cycling Women
Team VIRTU Cycling have extended contracts with 25 year-old German Mieke Kröger and 29 year-old Kasia Pawlowska from Poland. Both riders have had huge success on the track and have vast collection of European and World Championships medals.
Team VIRTU Cycling Women DS, Carmen Small says about the former German TT national champion:
”This power house is only getting started and we are excited to see what Mieke can do next year. She has shown that she is a force to be reckoned with in the finals of races and time trials. The team would not be complete without Mieke. She brings so much experience to the races and the team time trial. She is hungry to keep improving in all aspects of cycling and we are right by her side to support her in goals for the future”.
Mieke Kröger states:
”I’ve had a great year in the team in 2018. I regained motivation and I found trust. The atmosphere is great and you can feel a spirit throughout the team which is unique and that brings some extra power. So it was an easy decision to sign the contract with the team again. I hope we keep progressing in 2019 and that we can achieve great results next year without losing our attitude that made our team so special this year.”
VIRTU Cycling Women DS, Carmen Small says about Kasia:
”Kasia had a very strong start to the year and showed some very promising up and coming results. Unfortunately she fell ill in the middle of the season and had a very hard time to come back to where she left off. We have been working very closely with Kasia this second part of the season to get health back on track and get her 100% for this next season. Kasia is a leader on the team on and off the bike and will be a very crucial piece of the puzzle for next season to win races her self and also in a support role when needed. She offered the team years of experience at the highest level and can lead the girls into battle in both one day races and stage races”.
Kasia Pawlowska says:
”I am very happy to stay with VIRTU for the next season. When I joined the team last winter I felt right at home very fast. The atmosphere is great and the team has large potential and I hope that good cooperation between us will pay off with good results and winning races ”
