Team VIRTU Cycling heads for another Belgian classic in Dwars door Vlaanderen

More cobbles and steep climbs is what awaits Team VIRTU Cycling Wednesday, when Team VIRTU Cycling heads the Belgian Spring Classic Dwars door Vlaanderen.

Team VIRTU Cycling will go into another Belgian classic Wednesday, when the team heads for Dwars door Vlaanderen. The team had some good races in the last couple of weeks and aim to continue that streak while also preparing for the coming races.

“We have to stick with what we have done in the last couple of races and being up front and making the selection. Everyone knows that it is the key for succes in these races. For Katrine it is important to have some races under the belt before the Ardenne-races. It’s not the ideal race for preperation, but we are still developing riders,” sports director Carmen Small says.

With two top 10 finishes in the last two World Tour-races and multiple riders in the front split the team have taken a step up, and Carmen Small thinks it will strengthen the team’s performance in the coming races.

“I think they are getting more confident, and they start to understand, that they are there for a reason. Thats the biggest thing. They start to have the confidence that they belong and feel in control in the races, and that gives some extra, when they go into the finale of the race,” Carmen Small says.

Dwars door Vlaanderen stretches 118 kilometers with three categorised cobbled sections and five climbs, all of witch are in the final third of the race.
