Two VIRTU Riders in the top-10 in Boels Ladies’ Tour

With one kilometer to go of today’s stage of Boels Ladies’ Tour, VIRTU Cycling Women’s Barbara Guarischi was alone in front of the pack. However, the Italian rider was caught and in the sprint, teammates Mieke Kröger and Christina Siggaard were 8th and 10th.

Several times, VIRTU Cycling Women were on the attack during today’s 129 kilometer long second stage of the Dutch stage race with start and finish line in Gennep. Immediately after the gun sounded, the field exploded in fireworks as riders were launching attacks from left and right. But as Guarischi was inhaled and it all came together, Dane Amalie Dideriksen was the fastest rider on the finish line and took the win.

VIRTU Cycling Women DS, Carmen Small reports:

“It was a whole different story today compared to yesterday’s downfall. The girls were riding aggressively from the start and they demonstrated superb initiative. With two riders in the top-10, I can only be happy but naturally, we always aim for the win”.

Annemiek Van Vleuten still leads the race overall.
